Abyssal Escape Slide: Movement, Pairings and Starter Reports
Learn Slide from the survivor showcase and tester overview, with two-ability suggestions, stamina rules, and version-specific starter information.
What Is Slide?
Slide is named in the developer Camouflage and Slide showcase. The pre-release tester overview describes it as a survivor mobility option rather than a stun.
The tester says activated movement skills spend stamina, while ordinary running does not. That means using Slide and holding sprint are different resource decisions.
Is Slide Free at the Start?
The pre-release tester lists Slide and Awareness as free starting options. A release-era review instead reports Weak Punch and a healing box as the starting moves; another survivor review also describes a punch and a healing move.
Keep those accounts attached to their builds. Check the tutorial and menu on your account instead of treating one older starter list as permanent.
Route Suggestions
Choose the endpoint before using Slide. A useful endpoint may be behind cover, around a corner with another exit, or farther along a safe path to the escape ring.
A slide into an unknown dead end can create distance without improving your position. Likewise, moving under an attack in one clip does not establish invulnerability or a guarantee that every low obstacle is passable.
| Situation | Suggested Decision |
|---|---|
| A known corner leads to another route | Use the movement if it improves separation |
| A corridor has only one exit | Check the threat before committing |
| A mist objective is exposed | Use movement to leave rather than insist on finishing |
| An ability is unavailable | Continue ordinary movement while tracking its recovery |
| Extraction opens | Move toward the actual escape ring by a usable route |
These are tactical recommendations, not measured distance or recovery data.
Two-Ability Suggestions
| Pair | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Slide + Awareness | Movement and information, when both are available |
| Slide + Weak Punch | Close-range control followed by repositioning |
| Slide + Phantom Reflex | A defensive timing response with a movement backup |
| Slide + Camouflage | Move toward cover and conceal the next route |
The pairs use two equipped choices. Fleetway Flight is a killer tool, not a third survivor ability that can be added to one of these pairs.
What the Sources Do Not Measure
The captured showcase caption and tester transcript do not provide a precise slide duration, hitbox size, invincibility window, or stamina cost. Do not treat an invented frame count or a claim that a missed slide prevents running as a mechanic.
The post-release survivor reviewer prefers Slide to Heroic Boost in their matches. That is a useful player opinion, not a controlled ranking proving Slide wins every matchup.
FAQ
Does empty stamina stop sprinting?
Not in the resource system described by the tester. It limits resource-dependent skill use, while ordinary running remains separate.
Can Slide guarantee a chase break?
No guarantee is established. The route, collision, opponent, and current balance matter.
