Abyssal Escape NMI Phase 3: Yokai Sight and Springs

Learn NMI Phase 3 from the developer Yokai Sight showcase and recorded gameplay, including transformed tools, persistent springs, and targeting.

NMI Phase 3 Changes the Killer's Kit

No More Innocence is a player-controlled killer in Abyssal Escape. Its Phase 3 should be explained as a transformed moveset, not a boss fight that survivors win by depleting a boss health bar.

The developer's Yokai Sight showcase explicitly identifies Yokai Sight as NMI's third Phase 3 ability. The recorded NMI gameplay provides a practical look at that form.

What the Gameplay Actually Covers

In the recorded session, the creator wins an earlier round after seeing only Phase 1. A developer then puts the player directly into Phase 3 so they can record it. This is useful footage of the kit, but it does not establish the normal timer at which the transformation occurs.

The earlier form uses screen movement and deception. The pre-release tester explanation distinguishes those tools from the transformed set:

Phase 3 ToolDescribed Function
Tormenting DashA rush that grabs and slams a survivor
Spring TrickeryPlaces a false spring that slows a survivor who steps into it
Yokai SightMarks survivors and supports teleporting to a marked target

The tester describes 30 damage for Tormenting Dash in that build. Use it as a sourced build value, not a permanent promise after balance updates.

Spring Trickery: Recorded Persistence

The Phase 3 creator notices that placed springs remain on the field and decides that placing several is worthwhile. That supports persistence during the recorded round. It does not establish an unlimited placement cap, permanent duration, or exact trap lifetime.

As the killer, place pressure on routes survivors have a reason to use. As a survivor, do not assume every familiar-looking spring is a safe movement aid once NMI has transformed.

Yokai Sight and the Indicator

During the recording, the creator teleports and discusses R as an indicator-related tool that becomes available again. The official caption establishes the name Yokai Sight; the transcript alone does not specify every reset condition, marking radius, or cooldown.

Use the current target marker and ability feedback rather than assuming that a key label from the recording applies to every platform or binding.

Keep Earlier and Later Tools Separate

The tester overview says screen transportation is removed when NMI transforms. The Phase 1 television sequence shown earlier in the gameplay video should therefore not be taught as the main Phase 3 routine.

The creator also comments that a target has a counter which nullifies damage. That passage does not establish a fourth counter ability for NMI: it concerns the survivor the killer is attacking.

Survivor Counterplay

Keep an exit from the area where you are working. Watch placed hazards and new approach angles, and avoid spending both defensive tools on a visual cue without an actual attack.

Continue safe objective work until extraction becomes available, then move toward the escape ring. Phase 3 and extraction are separate events.

FAQ

Does this footage verify the normal Phase 3 trigger time?

No. A developer manually enabled the form for part of this recording. Fixed 8:00 and 6:00 phase values elsewhere in the collected material come from fan guides, not this sequence.

Do the springs persist forever?

The recording shows them remaining during play. It does not establish an unlimited lifetime or that they survive a round reset.
